Blogging!

When Mrs.Croker first introduced us to blogging i was like really now we have to write essays online haha. When i did my first blog it was actually pretty cool. I had never done anything like that before. I enjoy blogging a lot now. It is cool how you can see all your classmates blog and see what they write and also the comments that they leave you on your own blog. I think i will still continue to blog even after my class ends. I got my girlfriend into blogging now and everyday we have to write how our day went and we then read each others blog. It is actually really cool and hilarious at times. It was nice that Mrs.Croker introduced me to blogging and im sure others enjoyed it as well. Mrs.Croker you are an awesome teacher. I appreciate everything you have thought me and for increasing my knowledge in writing.

BJ's Restaurant

The first time i went to BJ's i fell in love with their food. I had a chicken sandwich with some fries and a strawberry lemonade. It was so delicious. But let me tell you waht was more delicious than anything. I am a big fan of spinach and artichoke dip and oh my god BJ's has the best spinach and artichoke dip i have ever tasted. The alfredo sauce so creamy and warm mixed with artichoke hearts topped with cheese is so mouth watering the minute they bring it to your table. It comes in a plate surrounded with red and black chips all around it. The second you take the first bite you fall in love. The service is really good and their atmosphere is really pleasant. Whenever you need something you just call the waiter and very politely they answer for your demand. I myself go to BJ's like around twice every month. The prices are unbelievable also. I have gone other places for dinner and they don't come nearly as close as to the prices BJ's offers. They have everything from salads haburgers and shrimp but their specialty is their own pizza and beer. They personally brew their own beer there. I myself have not tasted it as im not 21 years of age yet lol. My brother loves beer and he says that the beer tastes good there but i cant count on his opinion as everybody has different taste in food and im sure also their own taste in beer. BJ's restaurant to me points a 10 star food choice. I know it is my own opinion in my own taste but BJ's is so delicious and it never gets old.

Fast Food Nation

Fast Food Nation is a great book to read about how fast food is affcting us and what the real deal is when it comes to fast food. It shows you how they process meat and all the little secrets fast food restaurants do not want you to know about. This book has affected me in the way that when i knew how the meat was processed and how they kill cows and everything it just grosses me out. Even though it grosses me out i cannot live without meat but that is just my perspective. I love meat its one of my favorite foods. I do not think i will make any changes to how i eat food after reading this book. I did not know this before i read this book but after i know this i still can handle eating meat without those images coming to my head. There is so many things that people do not think of when they kill the cows or the way they process them. When you eat a hamburger it is like if you are eating not one cow but many cows just in that single slice of meat in the hamburger. To some people it may affect the way they thibk of everything after reading all this information and others might just not care. Its not that i do not care but i just love my meat haha. I recomend this book to everyone. It is a great book to read to give you some knoledge about how fast food is being proceesed and even marketed around the world.

Family

When I think of the word family happiness comes to mind. Family is just everything you have in life. Since you were born you had a family and that family is stuck with you for the rest of your life no matter what. Family is mom, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Some people do not like their family but others love their family so much that they are always with them. Me personally i love being with my family. I love my parents in every way. A family starts by when the girl and the guy have a baby and it builds up from there. That baby has kids and then that baby has more kids and the family just continues and continues. First you are born as a baby and as a son or daughter to somebody. After that you are then a dad or a mom or an uncle for your brother's or sister's baby. And then you are a grandpa or grandma if your kids have baby's. Right now i am at the stage of just a son to someone. I want to soon be a dad with the girl of my dreams which i have in my life already. No matter what race you come from everybody has a family. A family is something that there is in life like there is always going to be water or dirt on earth. Families come in many sizes. Some have families of 3 all together or even two if you never have kids. Kids do not always make up a family. A family to me is a male and a female building a life together. I love how i have my family with me but i know that when i build my own family i am going to love it the same way i do now. Relatives are not the only ones who can be your family. Even if you have friends that you are so close to and you have known for a long time are also considered family for some people. I have at least 3 friends that i can say they are like a part of my family. Family is just so important in this world. They care for you and are there when u need them to be there. They give you advice as how they lived life. It is so hard when a family member passes away but then your family grows even more when more kids are born. I have so much family that i cannot even count it in my head. Families are not always together at all times as there might be some living in Mexico and some in The United States but family is family no matter where you live. Everyone should be nice to their family and appreciate what they have. Not all families are the same but all have one thing in common and that is everybody cares for one another. Family members do not live forever but when they are alive is when you should care for them the most.

Denisse Mendoza

Denisse Mendoza is currently a student enrolled in the fall semester of Oxnard College at age nineteen. She was born in Ventura California with her parent’s background coming from Mexican descent. She is attending Oxnard College to start her education planning to transfer to San Diego in the future to major in Art. She lives her life as a student at Oxnard College and a part time job at Best Buy in the cell phone sales department. Her motivation to be a successful person in life comes from her older sister Araceli and from within her as well, for her family has never attended a university before. She also does it to be someone in life and not a bum living in the streets. Adventurous, creative and driven are the words that she describes herself as the person she currently is in life. The reason why she chose to attend Oxnard College is because it is a small intimate campus. The only things that she sees can be improved at Oxnard College are sports, student involvement and a theater department which it lacks on.

Reality TV

I watch some reality shows but not many. One of my favorite shows to watch is in fact Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I have seen every episode there has ever been made. What i like about reality shows is that it entertains you because you get to see other people's life's. I know some are not real like Jersey Shore which is all scripted but yet although people know it is fake they still cannot get enough of it. And i cannot blame them Jersey Shore is a lot of fun to watch also. Yeaaaa Buddy! I do not see why reality shows are harming our society maybe people dislike them for whatever reason but if they bother you just don't watch them and that's that. Why are you going to say things about a show when you can just change the channel and not watch it. I do not watch reality shows and then feel guilty for watching them. I watch them because i like them and they entertain me and i think everyone watches them for the same reason i do. There are many reality shows out there but some are just plain dumb. Sometimes i say how can this even be a show on T.V. Everybody has their own type of show they like and dislike. The most watched reality show right now is Jersey Shore which not only teenagers watch but a variety of viewers are into it every Thursday at 10pm. I watch it at 7pm just because i have Dish and i can see shows 3 hours before our time zone. Some shows are popular and some are not. The more popular they are the more money the cast gets for each season that comes out. Jersey Shore cast members are earning 100 thousand dollars each for every episode that they make. To me its ridiculous to be earning that much money just for drinking and going to clubs but since its a hit show then they have to pay them what they want because everyone wants the same cast and not a different one. In my opinion i think Keeping Up With The Kardashians is a better reality show because it is actually a real show that is really happening to them. and also Kim Kardashian is hot so what else could i ask for. Reality shows are more about peoples life's and the actions that happen to them without being scripted and having real people instead of trained actors.

Texting

Texting is sort of my middle name because any time of the day you will see me texting. As everybody says that they feel naked without their phone is exactly right, Whenever i am not texting or not using my phone i feel like there is something missing. I just got a new phone about 4 days ago and im texting even more now because all i want is to be with my new phone. Texting is an everyday part of life. I wonder how it used to be back then when there was no texting yet. I can imagine it was just pure phone calls or beepers. I don't see myself living without texting in my life. Texting has changed the world of communication in a big way. When you just want to ask somebody something without calling them you just text them and wait for an answer. Everybody has their own way of communicating weather it is facebook or a phone call or whatever but my way is texting and i do not see changing how i communicate. I am not a facebook person  like everyone is but i am indeed a texting addict and i love it.

Happy Meal!

When I was just a kid, I loved going to McDonald's just to get a happy meal. Every Sunday was happy meal day for me. I loved having a new toy every weekend which as i see now that i only played with it for like a day. I used to eat a lot of fast food when i was a child. Weather it was hamburgers or burritos or anything else i loved the taste of it. My favorite fast food restaurant has always been McDonald's since i was a child. When we used to go to Taco Bell or anywhere else i liked the food but it was not as nearly the same as McDonald's. The toys were just better at McDonald's. My dad has never been a fan of fast food but my mom has always loved hamburgers and stuff like that. My dad is a fan of home style food like enchiladas or posole.

I stopped eating fast food when i was about 15 years old. I did not completely stop eating it but i just cut the habit of eating it a lot. As of today i eat fast food no more than once a month. Cutting down on fast food has helped me in many ways. I used to be more chubby before i cut on eating so much fast food. Right now i am not fat and not skinny either but i am an average size person and i am happy with my body at the moment. I always tell my mom why she always took me to fast food places and she always tells me well because you liked them. I am not going to lie about fast food not being good. Trust me fast food is delicious but the only reason why it is so good is because it has so much fat. I bet if i had a carrot and i dipped it in fat it will also be delicious.

When i have kids in the future i am going to give them fast food but not on every occasion. I know everybody loves fast food and if it was a healthy meal we would all be eating it every day. Since it is not a healthy meal that is why we try to avoid it the most we can. Others have more control of avoiding it than others do. Eating right at home shows a message to kids of how it is to be eating healthy. Since a child is small they watch what we eat and if they see us saying that fruit or vegetables are gross then they are going to also say that they are gross also. Eating right does not just help our bodies but it helps the people around us. Everybody has different opinions of it but for me fast food has to be eaten in low quantities. Everybody has their own lifestyle and they make their own eating decisions but when we have kids we decide what they eat not them.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

   I was given the name Gerardo Magaña on January 23,1992. I started growing up as a normal child and what i mean by normal i mean a quiet one. I grew up with my mom my dad and an older brother. My brother helped me a lot throughout my childhood. When i was nine years old my mom was pregnant with my little sister. When i was ten years old i wanted to be a doctor when i grew up. As i reached the age of 12 i was bought my first computer. I loved my computer more and more each day i used it. That was when i said to myself why am i going to be a doctor if i have no interest in that. When i graduated from Pacifica High School was when i decided what i wanted to do in life.

   I am currently a second year student at Oxnard College trying to achieve my goal in getting my Computer Information Systems degree. It took a lot of years to get to where i am but i know it will all pay off in the long run. About a month ago i went quad writing in a city called Goorman where i fractured my hip and had to get surgery. This was my first major injury i have ever had in my life. I never thought i was ever going to break a bone in my body, but now i know that you cannot control your life as what is going to happen. Thank god everything went good with my surgery and i am quickly recovering from it.

   Throughout my life i have loved anything that has to do with computers and electronics. I see myself in the future graduating from college with my computer information systems AA. After that i want to be a computer support specialist. When it comes to helping others with computers i am always there for them and i love helping them out. I feel i have good communication skills and am willing to help others through the phone and also in person. I also see myself getting married at about age 25 and having a child of my own at 26. Everybody has a future but it is your own future that you have to think about.
